Power and weakness are misunderstood concepts and are often confused. These ideas do what they are. For example, power can only be expressed by making powerful, or full of power. Weakness expressed results in an attempt to weaken. This is a key idea to remember, that what something does is inherent in what it is. If someone is in a position of responsibility and they try to weaken or restrict people in some way, then you can be certain that person is a person of weakness or believes that they themselves are weak. If they didn’t believe in weakness, it would never occur to them to try to weaken others. In a similar manner, people in responsibility who are people of power, empower others.
The belief one holds they extend to others. By extending it to others, they reinforce the belief they have about themselves. Weak people vainly try to weaken people thinking that it will make them strong, in truth, it reinforces their own belief in weakness. Powerful people share their power knowing that their power is increased when given away.
Let other people show you what you believe by how you interact with them. Do you find yourself trying to dominate them? What are your conversations like? Or are you helping others to see and reach their full potential?
