Gaining a simple understanding of how one’s mind works provides enormous benefits. In simplest terms, what you believe, you will experience. This is analogous to the concept “you reap what you sow.”

Whether we recognize it or not, everyone always expresses what they believe and what they believe shapes their identity of themselves.  This could be understood as how someone perceives themself or their self-concept.  Since your beliefs are the framework by which you perceive, you use this framework when you think about other people and it acts as the lens that shapes what you think about them.  This is not open to question.  What you think, or the beliefs you hold, are the beliefs you think about yourself and other people.  This is implicit in that statement.

So, what’s the point?

Well… If you aren’t enjoying your life, then you need to adjust the lens (i.e. beliefs) by which you perceive the world.

In order to perceive the world differently, you need to change what you believe.  To change what you believe, you need to teach yourself something new – this is the goal of all learning – to change.  You can do this by choosing to express yourself differently.  That choice is a matter of will and the catalyst for change.  By willing something new, you will be teaching yourself something new and learning what you teach.  This will change how you see yourself and others because you will have reconfigured your view of the world.

Okay, but what does this have to do with t-shirts?

When you see someone wearing a t-shirt, they are expressing themselves.  It is literally written on their shirt.  Each time they wear a specific shirt; they are reinforcing what they believe.  For example, when someone wears a shirt of a specific sports team, you can largely assume that they support that team or identify themselves with people who support that team.  It frames their identity.

How would you want to see yourself and others?  Do you want to see yourself as a victim of experiences beyond your control or the creator of opportunities in your life?  These are the only two options available to you.  One leads to depression and the other to empowerment.  Likewise, one is false and the other is true.  You can believe either, but never can you believe both at the same time.

Choose to wear something different today.  Change how you express yourself and you will be changing how you see yourself.  Choose a provoking statement or an original design that will help you change your perception and see the world in a more loving light. View products →
